I've been trying to farm him/her, but it has proven to be quite difficult.
First, I manage to get there, but not on the side I wanted...It's not the side i want because on the otherside, Jayne can be lured out of his group...I'm positive about this because ive killed the warrens with henchies and she didn't do anything...
So basically, I can't get on the right side because of bodyblock and a 55hp monk isn't the best for this IMO
Still, I think that maybe a warrior with Scourge Healing or Gaze of Contemp + Grenth's Balance, can kill him...
I'm here looking for help from those that know more about this than I do, so we can try to make a build...

Jayne uses:
Air of Enchantment
Shield Guardian
Reversal of Fortune
Zealot's Fire
i'll try a GB warrior later... but the thing is to not hit at all... he will get healed from SG and RoF. and don't get up close because ZF hurts when he's casting every second or so.
probably GB and some direct damage _spells_ will kill him. i want a Vera ):

W/Me is your best bet here. Use the same idea to farm Incetol - e-denial with spirit shackles and he wont be able to cast anything. I took that build, but just replaced ether feast with heal sig (to counteract bleeding) and dragon slash for sprint. The two tricky points are how to get to him and and how to pull him out.
The first part is easy - take the path up the bridge through Flower Spiritgarden, then down past the mesmer boss. Once there, you'll need to play with the aggro some in order to get Jayne. The most consistent way I found to do this (consistent as in it works about 80-90% of the time) is to use a long bow and pull one of the wardens (try not to aggro jayne too) back towards the way you came. Once they come after you, sprint through them (be very careful about the traps, if you get snared, you're dead - the traps tend to be either on the sides or in the middle, but sometimes you'll just get unlucky), but keep your target on jayne. You'll notice that once you're through, she'll actually chase you a little farther than the warden group. Once you notice this, stop immediately and let her hit you a few times. Then gradually pull her farther away so you're out of aggro range of the warden mob. Once you get her alone, she goes down really quick. Hope that helps.

First of all, no elite skill?
And secondly, your tactic is really hard to pull off. Theres not enough space to move around, jayne hardly ever follows you out of the group and I also sometimes get pwnt by "you shall not pass"
After a bit more experimentation, I took out silverwing and put in balanced stance to deal with warrior shout. Full bar looks like this:
Need at least 12 in Strength for 13 sec sprint. Inspiration should be 7 or more. Distribute rest accordingly. Use a zealous sword.
Sever
quivering blade - yea, I forgot the elite for some reason.
Spirit Shackles
tiger stance
balanced stance
dolyak
heal sig
sprint
It's not guaranteed, and certainly not that easy. If you want to be more certain, you'll probably want to 5 man or something. Sometimes you'll get snared and you die. But I've still been able to do it even with 30% dp. The key is to try to pull the warden group further and further back towards the mesmer boss. That way, once you sprint through, you'll get just jayne to follow you. I'll make a video once I perfect this some more. But in the meantime, see below (yes, I forgot the elite again):
Addendum: Here some more screenshots showing how this works (for those that want to try this out and cant wait for the video).
Step 1: The initial configuration of the mob. Note that I have Jayne selected. Always have her selected on your radar.
Step 2: Pull the mob back, but leave Jayne where she is. Note where Jayne is relative to the mob. Make sure she's far enough away. If not, just wait until she moves away. Eventually, there will be enough distance for you to aggro just the mob. Try not to aggro the Mesmer boss's group if you cant help it, but it's not a huge deal. If you happen to do so, immediately run forward again through the warden mob. Btw, did I meantion to keep jayne selected? :P.
Step 3: The run through. Didnt have time to take the screen shot unfortunately, but basically, the sequence is to hit balance stance and start running. When the Warden of the forests get close, they will use their shout. Then immediately hit sprint to run through. If you set off a trap, you're toast. But again, you can still do this even at 30% dp. Traps are always around the spirits, so avoid going through them. Also, note where the wardens of the branch are, and dont go near them either.
Step 4: Pulling Jayne out. Below you'll see what is optimal configuration. That is, Jayne is pulled and is the ONLY one attacking you. Why does this work? As the OP pointed out, Jayne is indeed SEPARATE from the mob, like a lot of other bosses. Also, when running through, you'll notice that at some point, the warden mob will stop chasing you and actually come to a standstill (sometimes even ball up). However, because Jayne is toward the uppper end of the radar, you'll aggro her as well, and she can be uplled much further. At this point, start moving forward a little to get Jayne in your aggro bubble, then start pulling her back to a safe location.
Step 5: Kill Kill Kill. When you think you've got her far enough away, start engaging.. Cast spirit shackles. Wait a bit, cast it again. After the second time, she'll be depleted, so move up, hit dolyak, and start whacking. Repeat until she goes down.
Hope that was more helpful. Video is coming soon since I know this sounds complicated.
6/18/06 - Added videos below. The first video shows the way it usually works. Wasn't my cleaniest run, but it got the job done.

Nice, so she'll just drop the hammer even though she's holding a staff? and for the heck of it, why are we calling it a she? I don't think wardens have sex or their appearance are very muscular guys.
I think they changed it so that the boss now always holds their green weapon (at least from the ones I've seen), but that doesn't necessarily mean they will drop a green.

After reading I ran out and tried it, works fine and all but there was mention of running past wardens and such and I had tried that and it was rather painful. There is a much easier path to Jayne:
Yellow is the front (bad) way, the standard in game red dot path is the good, easier way. Going this route you will not need Balanced Stance.
I took that route as well, but doesn't it lead you past a Mesmer boss sorrounded by Kirin's and such? I wasn't able to break aggro with no speed boost.

Yes, *he* does drop both. Heck, I've even had him drop both at the same time:
Jayne is a character from Firefly, and Vera is his gun that supposedly is the best one ever made by man.
From fireflywiki.org:
JAYNE
A trade? Hell, it's theft! This is
the best gun made by man, and its got
extreme sentimental value! It's
miles more worthy'n what you got.
MAL
"What I got" - she has a name.
JAYNE
So does this! I call it Vera.
The other day I spammed in trade channel (American server) "wtt vera for saffron" but nobody got the joke

stellar wtf... you farm too much
i'm still going to stick to razajan, merki, uglystick farming unless there becomes a huge market for Veras from Firefly fans i want a vera.
Anywho another strat that has worked for me, simply take the some route and when your fully healed up, just run through the mob, don't worry about aggroing Jayne. The instant that they first lose you, they should ball up on a point thats roughly in the center of that area. Then when your right on about the long/flatbow range to Jayne, who should be pretty close to this ball, pull out a long or flatbow and hit him once. This should get his attention and no one elses. And you simply pull him back. If you do get the attention, don't worry, if you hit them when they were still in the longbow range, it seems that they really aren't that interested in you except Jayne, so simply run away (don't sprint) the other way. You should lose everone except Jayne before you hit the Undergrowth and Dragon Moss groups.
